Not you're average window treatment...

So, during this whole basement juggling act we have been doing, we ran into the fact that the window in the area for the bathroom was too big. And to make a long story short I decided to take on the project of getting rid of it.

I researched what I wanted to do and went to work. The man at the hardware store was very helpful and didn't make me buy anymore than I needed. (There were a couple things on my list that he showed me other ways of doing.)

Anyway, Adam and I were very proud of the fact that I took the inititive and it worked out very well. Now I just have to find an eye pleasing way to beautify the outside.

Adam took out the window, put up the plywood and sealed it with foam insulation. Then I painted it (for water proofing) and put up chicken wire.

Then I added a cement stucco to it. Kaleb was a great helper..."Hey mom, you missed a spot"
Tada!

Well I just wanted to share that because I am very proud of myself. :) It was a fun project and I was glad to finally help with the construction. It's coming along, my dad is doing electrical this week and then on to drywall!

Look at you, being handy-man around the house! You are the envy of all house wives. Although Janica is catching up to you by painting her kids' walls :)

Great job!!
