When life gives you lemons...

They say when it rains it pours... well it's pouring here. For the last month I have been without my own car. So on the days that Adam is gone, the kids and I are stuck for the most part. Adam took the car apart with some of his work buddies and they think it is the mani-fold gasket, whatever that is. All I know is that it isn't good and it will cost a bit to fix.
Then on Wednesday our water heater started making funny sounds. I called Adam at work and he didn't know what to tell me, so I just let it go. Then on Thursday, I called him because we were no longer getting hot water. Again, he couldn't help much so I went down and took a look. The pilot was out and there was a stream of water coming from the bottom, "Not good". So I called my Grandpa Carlson, AKA Mr. Fix it, and confirmed that it would need to be replaced. So I got to play handyman, or woman, that night. I had my neighbor turn off the water valve, it was stuck, and then I drained the water tank. The next morning Adam and grandpa took on the rest of the project, and a few hundred dollars later, it was replaced.
So we have those two fun surprises and our basement remodel, ahhh! Oh well, life goes on. At least we have a home to repair!
Speaking of the remodel, last Tuesday Adam, his brother, Aaron and friend Chet all framed! It didn't take them but a few hours. There is about an hour more of framing to do and then we move on to electrical. And so far things are going as they should.

Last weeks weather was so nice! Deceiving, but I will take it. The kids and I got out every day. I had a great time checking out all the bulbs bursting out of the ground and the kids loved romping around in the wet grass.
When it won't roll, just carry it. He's a good little problem solver.
This is the peep hole to our friendly neighbor dog, Shai.

Here are a couple of my pre-spring finds, it's so exciting!! My dad would say, "Angelique, you're blooming!" That was his definition of me coming out of hibernation.

Ok mom's, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a bed time routine supposed to consist of calm, relaxing activities?? Well not according to my husband... here is his idea of a bed time routine. (After bath)

Seems a little backwards to me and it takes longer, but hey, he's doing it not me! And that's just alright.

love the pix of the dog's nose through the fence...and ya, why do Dad's think getting the kids all riled (sp?) up is ok right before bedtime!?!
