It took a lot of hard work, some extra help lifting some of the beams (thanks Kelly, Ryan and Kevin) and FOREVER to stain, but we love it. Here are some photos of our new home addition.
The main posts are 10 inches of solid timber. They poor things were so new they were still leaking sap.
The secondary (across the top) beams are 4"X10", not light. I tried to help turn one on it's side and about pulled a muscle. I'm so glad men are tough!
Like I said, the staining took forever because it is rough wood, but I love it! And it blends with the house much better so it doesn't look so huge. Good work boys!! Thank you. Now I get to decorate it with flowers and maybe a hammock :)
We also added a couple more trees last week... I love plants, I wish we had room and money for them all!
We took out more grass from the front yard, poor pretty grass to make room for a new Prairie Fire crabapple tree, love it! And put two more smaller Swedish aspens next to the large one in back that we bought last year.
Ok seriously we need to slow down our projects, for money reasons and so we don't get bored. :) But it's so fun!

That is so NICE!!! Love it! Your yard is so transformed.:) last time we were there you still had a yard full of dirt. It looks amazing now!
That's gorgeous! And it IS really big, but you're right, it fits perfectly with the patio. Your whole yard looks awesome, that's so fun that you've been doing so many projects. It all looks great!
Carl told me the new house is awesome! And this certainly adds so much to it. Great work! :)
It seriously looks amazing! Way to go! We just laid sod yesterday in our backyard... landscaping makes such a huge difference. I think next year we might plant trees. Crabapple trees are beautiful... I love springtime!
